What is CPAZ?
CPAZ (Charity Promotion Association of Zhuhai) is a registered CSO (Civil Society Organization) in China and works to promote social activism and public welfare through a range of projects, which aim to provide compassionate assistance to vulnerable sectors of society.
This includes supporting destitute, disadvantaged people and particularly young students living as orphans or with single parents.
Currently CPAZ's largest project provides sponsorship for over 600 hundred students whom have lost their mothers or fathers and therefore struggle to stay in school. Sponsorship of students supplies them with tuition fees, books, uniforms, and the necessary equipment to have an equal start in education.
Chen Ying, the vice president of CPAZ, and numerous determined others, have committed their dedication to social welfare in Zhuhai China since 2005. In 2010, after years of perseverance within the Chinese governmental system, the organisation became a 'legal' registered charity.
At present, CPAZ has over 2,000 registered online volunteers, 250 members and more than 20 member units. In March 2011 CPAZ provided 300,000RMB (£30,000) worth of subsidies for impoverished students, and raised over 500,000RMB (£50,000) for China's Charity Federation and Red Cross.
CPAZ is an organisation that has both a local, and global vision. With each project we hope to promote a greater development of public and social welfare in China, whilst also assisting the establishment of social equality and harmony in Zhuhai.
After years of hard work, we finally became a stable structure, well-established in the province. Our next step is to develop our structure in the country. To do so, we intend to open new offices in key cities and at the same time help other CSOs. Partnerships with institutions, local governments and organizations are in process.
