Psychological and legal assistance
Since society is a whole, when there is a problem, it will certainly have repercussions. This is why we enlarged our panel of activities to two new domains: psychological and legal assistance.
We noticed that some of the children we took care of suffer from psychological disorders due to their life experiences. They and their parents are often not aware of their rights, mostly because they are uneducated or believe that their poor conditions give them no rights. China is also one of the country with the biggest migrations movements. Migrants often feel lost, they live apart from society. They don't speak chinese, when they encounter a problem they don't look for the government's help, their children don't go to school.
Our mission has several dimensions:
- Awareness: First, these people must acquire knowledge. We inform them they have rights and who they can contact, or in the case of psychological assistance we refer them to experts.
- Monitoring: Legal settlement or psychological recovery are a full process that takes time. This is why we assist people until the very end of their problems, and give them full support all along. For instance, we organized a two-day activity for children suffering from psychological disorders in an island. They met experts who explained them what they were experiencing, we had activities to develop their social skills (and simply to have some fun !), and offered them books so that they can fully understand what they were going through.
